Interactive Poster Assignment

This assignment is to make an interactive poster using Adobe Flash, about 1 Malaysia.

This is my poster. So, for this project i'm turning this still poster into interactive poster (time-based poster).

Adobe Flash

I choose Action Script 3.0, but it's not an animation, so using action script 2.0 is still fine.

First, i change the stage size into 240 x 320 px, and i also change the stage color into black. To change the size, just click the Edit button under properties, and change color, click the white button in front of the Stage.

This is how it looks then.

The Poster

First, i copy the KLCC image, which i've made into vector image, from Adobe Photoshop. Select the image using Rectangular Marquee Tool, then, copy, and paste to the stage.

To make it easier, convert the image by clicking Modify > Convert To Symbol. If we're not converting it into symbol, we can't use Motion Tween for this image. Make sure every image we'll use is converted into symbol.

I want to make the fade-in effect. So, first, select a frame on timeline (in this picture i use 30), right-click on the timeline, and select Convert to Keyframes. The timeline will split.

Then, select the first frame (10), select the image. In properties, under the Color Effect, select style, change it into Alpha, and reduce it until 7. The image will be transparent.

Next, right-click the frame > Create Classic Tween. The frame will automatically turns out as step by step from no image, until it appear.

Next, make a new layer for the timeline.

I want to use this image. This image already cut using photoshop ( as the selected line in thi picture), and saved as a .png file.

So, select File > Import > Import to Stage, then place it.

Next, the crowded vector image. If the image is in Adobe Illustrator, we just need to copy - paste the image into the stage. But, if it's in Photoshop, we have to do the same thing as the KL Tower image- save as .png, then import to stage.

For this image, i use classic tween with big - to - small effect. The first frame, make the image bigger, then in the new keyframe, make the size as the stage.

Next, adding the text. I use Adobe Illustrator to make the text, then copy - paste to the stage.

To make the fade-out effect for the whole stage, i make a black rectangle shape to cover the stage, then use the Classic Tween.

The last one, after the fade-out effect, i use 1 Malaysia symbol. Also using the the Classic Tween.

Finish!
Sorry if there's a mistake in this post.
Thankyou! :)

Calendar

So, this is the assignment 2, group's calendar.
I do June and November.
June theme is Futuristic fashion style, and November is Mod fashion style.

I use the format from our group's blog, so i erase some layer that i don't need.
First, make the background.

Make a new layer, then i use rectangle tool and paint bucket tool for background.

Then, i just need to add some image, type the fashion name, month, and the quotation.
For the image, i use the magnetic lasso tool to select certain part, or just crop, and, copy, paste to the calendar.
And, so for all image.

For the november calender i use the same way, and i only change the colours.

Assignment 1

So, this is my e-wallpaper. I don't really understand about photoshop, so i just did it as i can.

Combine images
I use some photograph that i took myself in some places, and combine it.

First, i want to use this photo as the main image, but not all. So, i use the rectangle marque tool to select.

Then, edit > copy, and paste in the new file, as requiered, A4 size, and place as we want to.

The next image, i only want to use a small part so i also use the same way, then, to rotate it as i want, after select the image, use. Then i can rotate and resize the selection.

Copy and paste the selection.

Then i just do the same thing for all image that i want to combine.

Background

I want to make the background in black to support my theme. First, select the background layer. Then i'll use the paint bucket tool. Choose the color from color guide or swatches. Then select o the white space on the image.

Type

Use the horizontal type tool. After typing, maybe it turns out to small. So we have to click and block the type, then change the size. To change the color use the color guide or swatches.

Done!
Last retouching, i use auto color to reduce the differences in each image.
So this is it!! My e-wallpaper.

I don't think i'll get a good mark for this, because i'm not used to make artwork using adobe photoshop.
But... i hope this is enough already.
Sorry and Thanks! :)

Reference

This is a poster of Night Festival that held in National Museum of Singapore, July 2010.
It's simple but still, it's ellegant. I'll use this poster as my reference for my E-Wallpaper assignment.

My Assignment 1 Ideation

For my e-wallpaper assignment, i've decide to use the "Night Festival".
I choose this kind of festival because this is the most common festival all over the world. Not only one or two country held this festival.

This festival is a kind of festival that held because of some occasion like new year. So it can be different anywhere, based on what it held for, also the way it held.

I also choose night festival because i really like it.The colorful lights in dark night, it'll be a really good scene to be memorize.

But, sorry, i can't explain more than this to you, because there's no an exact explaination about night festival. Like i've said above, it'll be different anywhere, the way it held, and the occasion.

So, if someone found a site that discuss the night festival, please feel free to share.  :)
